TLDR come here if you think of coffee as a hobby or passion (like if you grind your own beans and do your own pour or dial your own espresso), not the place for foo-foo drinks (tho they do serve them with quality coffee).

What a great little place! I had read about Hawaiian Fresh Roast in the Honolulu Magazine and bookmarked it to try. Last August, they had moved the Made in Hawaii festival to early November so I couldn't get my usual Kona coffee beans. But not I don't have to wait! The owner, Fred, is great to talk to!

Excellent coffee, well rounded flavor, fresh, strong but no bitterness- comfort to the core . They know their stuff!!! On top of that , they made my toddler happy with a sample of Dole Whip. Highly recommend, support local businesses the owner is kind and knowledgeable in his craft.

The coffee beans alone were amazing. They didnt nhave the same bitterness that most coffee has. You could practically eat the beans straight! The owner, Fred ( I believe) was extremely friendly and answered any questions that we had regarding all of their coffee drinks.
